The debut date for Honda’s family-oriented SUV, the new 2022 Honda Passport, is scheduled to be announced later this year. The current-gen model will only be slightly modified, but certain features will become standard. The price for a new 2022 honda passport will start around $34,500; the 2022 version will similarly feature five trim levels. Similarities will remain since the new model gets the same 3.5-liter naturally aspirated i-VTEC V6 engine.
Honda Passport is a mid-size vehicle positioned between the CR-V and the Pilot 3-Row. A large cabin and comfy ride draw many family SUV shoppers to it. The baseline Sport trim may benefit the most from the 2022 update because it already comes equipped with numerous safety measures. Elite trim will also be priced at approximately $45,000 instead of its current MSRP of $44,000.
Engine for 2022 Honda Passport
The engine remains unchanged; the 2022 Honda Passport will have the same 3.5-liter V-6 engine. It generates 280 hp as well as 262 lb-ft of torque. This time around, the transmission chores will be handled by a nine-speed automatic transmission with improved fuel efficiency. The standard vehicle configuration will have a front-wheel drivetrain with an all-wheel drive available for light off-roading.
2022 Honda Passport Interior Update and Improvement
There will be few updates to the cabin in the 2022 Honda Passport. As additional features are planned to be introduced as standard, the bottom trim will benefit from those features. Still, it isn’t easy to accurately forecast what elements will be included in the trim at this time, given no official information coming from Honda.
Speaking of the interior, it is pretty helpful but not as fascinating as some of its competitors. Currently, the cabin’s interior design is relatively user-friendly and made of high-quality materials. Rather than physical controls, the touchscreen dominates the in-cabin experience, and this trend will continue with the 2022 model.
